I’m Proud Of You Pinwheel Card (Free Kit with Purchase)

Who do you know that deserves a “I’m proud of you card”?  I bet you have at least one person in mind.

so proud of you card

So many people have stepped up to the challenges during this current pandemic. Here’s a few that come to mind: teachers, medical professionals, parents, truckers and grocery store workers. Of course there are also the students who have continued their education as their school year changed completely and graduations without the normal pomp and circumstance.

If you’d like to make this card and send to someone you are proud of, you just need to order May Stamp of the Month, Time to Celebrate, from my Close To My Heart website. This stamp set is only available in May and is discounted to just $5 when you add it to your cart of $50 or more. Everyone who purchases this stamp from me will receive a kit to make the card above (or one of the variations below) in the mail!

This stamp set is filled with script and print sentiments for all occasions. You can easily change up the kit to make tell someone “happy birthday” , “thank you”, “congratulations” or any other of the sentiments on this fully loaded stamp set. In fact, I used same materials included in the kit to make this Father’s Day card.

Father's Day Card

Besides switching out the sentiment, I made a few other changes for this card. Because our patterned paper is double-sided, I turned over the paper at the bottom of the page to show the check pattern instead of the plaid.

Another change was to flatten out the pinwheel. Although the 3-D pinwheel is a lot of fun for cards that you are hand delivering, it doesn’t fit in an envelope well. I was afraid that even if I was able to fit it in an envelope, it would get crushed into an odd shape in transit. So I used a Bone Folder and working from the inside of the pinwheel out, creased each of the spokes of the pinwheel.

Finally, on the Father’s Day card, I painted the button with the Sapphire shimmer brush. Keeping with the change in color, I sponged the edges of the card base and papers with Sapphire ink rather than the Toffee I used in the first card.

Clean and Simple Congratulations

Today, I wanted to show you a really quick and easy wedding congratulations card I made using The Happy Couple stamp set. (Did I tell you I love this set?)

This simple card was made by stamping with Slate ink on Cranberry and White Daisy cardstock. The cake pieces were attached with foam tape to add dimension. I finished it off with a little ribbon and sparkles.

I love simple! Don’t you?

Reversible Cards

I apologize that it has been a while since I have posted any art work. Today, I’m going to make up for it and post a series of simple cards.

Each of these cards is reversible! By this I mean that although each pair of cards were cut from the same papers, I turned one more of the B&T papers over before assembling one of them. It is so fun to see what a difference this can make.

These cards are so simple and easy to make because all of the sentiments on the Casual Expressions Stamp set can be cut out using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

Recipe for cards:

Paper: Card 1 – Clementine, Card 2 – Avonlea and Dakota, Card 3 – Scholastic, Card 4 – Flirty

Stamp: Casual Expressions

Embellishments: Mocha Opaques, Burlap Ribbon

I hope these cards have inspired you to think simple. Just a few rectangles of paper can be used to make designer cards with some creative stamping and a few embellishments!

Have a crafty day,

Rebecca

Baroque Borders – August Stamp of the Month

One of the perks of being a Close To My Heart consultant is that you get to “preview” new items. That means that I get to play with them before they are available in retail.

Last week, I made this card using the August Stamp of the Month, Baroque Borders.

The sentiment is from the“4 My Friend” stamp set (D1510). This card also uses the NEW Avalon paper pack with the NEW Slate cardstock. There is a lot more NEW stuff in the 2012 Autumn/Winter Idea Book which was just released today.

Here’s some more ideas for this stamp set:

Would you like to make the projects pictured above? Follow this link to the supply lists and directions.

This stamp set is only available during the month of August 2012. Order yours
today for $17.95 or just $5 with an order of $50.

Here’s a card I made using this stamp set. I used the new Avonlea B&T papers with Slate cardstock.

Cards to celebrate your favorite Graduate’s Achievements

Last night I finished up the sample cards to next Sunday’s Graduation Card workshop.

This first card is not just for graduations and could be used for any occasion that you want to remind someone to be themselves. This fun card uses the Typeset paper with the Pair-a-Phrase Stamp set.

The second card can also be used for non-graduation occasions. The message is to “Follow your dreams for as you dream you shall become.” The inside has this Walt Disney quote “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”.

This card also uses the Pair-a-Phrase stamp set along with the Superhero paper pack.

The final card has more traditional graduation imagery, but has a fun shape depicting a cap and tassel. Here’s a picture of the closed card:

And here’s the view when you lift up the cap to open the card:

Stamping is done with the You Did It set.

I’d love to have you come to my house on Sunday, April 22 from 2:30 – 5:00 and make these fun cards with us. You will make 4 of each card (12 total) for $12. Please email me to register and receive directions to my home.

Potential Cards

Good morning! Today, I want to share with you a couple cards I made recently with Potential, the March Stamp Of The Month.

This first one could be used for wedding or anniversary.

This card is really easy to make using solid Grey Flannel and Daisy White cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Blush. I dressed it up a little with some flowers from the Bitty Buds Assortment (Z1690). Here’s a close up of those lovely embellishments.

For my second card, I also used the new 4 My Friend stamp set (D1510). This set of 10 stamps covers all your major reasons for sending a card.

As you may have noticed from several of my latest projects, I’m in love with the Garden Wooden Shapes (Z1718). They come in a neutral shade, but you can ink them to match anything. For this card, I ran them across the Blush stamp pad a few times and added a few Sparkles.

Don’t forget the Potential stamp set is only available during the month of March. It is $17.95 or just $5 with an additional purchase of $50. You get all of the images shown below.
