My Page Celebrating 23 Years of Marriage

This month, my husband and I celebrate 23 years of marriage. We thought we had it all figured out in 1994 when we tied the knot, but we had no idea where life would lead us.

This one-page spread is another layout from the Close To My Heart convention. It uses several prints from the Basic and Adventure Fundamental paper packs. If you have been following my other posts with convention layouts, you know I’m a big fan of the Fundamentalline of papers. Each of these pages gives you a somewhat neutral print using a single color. Once you have picked your color palette, you can replace any solid papers with one of these prints with no change to your color scheme.

The stickers, including this title, are from the Better Together Complements pack. There is also a scattering of the new Bashful pearls on the page.

#30yearsofhappy – Day 8

We are now on day 8 of our #30yearsofhappy challenge. You can see more projects using the hashtag #30yearsofhappy on Facebook and Instagram. Close To My Heart is publishing one project each day using the hashtag, plus many consultants and customers are also posting pictures with that hashtag.

You + Me Happy Anniversary Card

Today I get to share another bright and cheerful card with you. Ellen at www.cardmonkeyspaperjungle.com made this card using the “You + Me” stamp. She is so creative using them as petals for the lovely daisy. This shows how you can use repetition to make a big impact even when your stamps or other elements are relatively small.

Follow this link to her blog post to learn more about this card as well as a supply list.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see the Julia’s next project in our #30yearsofhappy challenge.

Ready to get your own #30yearsofhappy stamp set? Click this link to go my CTMH website. Pick our ANY of our stamp sets with total retail of $30 or more and you will be prompted to add this set for FREE!

I hope you will join us on this 30 day challenge. How many projects can you make with this set in September? Add your projects using the link invitation below.

The Happy Couple…For Always

Ever since I saw the new Idea Book, I knew I wanted to make some cards using the For Always paper and The Happy Couple stamp set. They had to have been literally made to go together.

Here’s my first creation.

What do you think? This card was easy peasy. I just pieced together some rectangles of B&T over a black base. Then stamped the sentiment on white and mounted on Cranberry cardstock. Finally, added a little ribbon and a few Sparkles. Done!

There are so many great images on The Happy Couple stamp set for wedding, anniversary, showers, or Valentines Day cards. You could even build a fun birthday cake with the rectangles.

Which one(s) should I use next?

Going to the Chapel…

Today, I’d like to share with you the cards that we will be making at the next Cards by the Dozen workshop. The theme is Wedding and Anniversary. Enjoy!

This first card is made with just Black and White Daisy cardstock. I used my Martha Stewart scoreboard to add the embossed hash marks to the cake and Bitty Opaque Pearls to dress it up. For the bow, I’ll have a rainbow of ribbon colors for you to choose from and Sentiment stamps for the inside.

This next card is made from the discontinued Bliss paper and Trellis stamp set. I used a little Liquid Glass to add some spark to the centers of the flowers. It could be used for both weddings and anniversaries.

Finally, I used the stamp set from the Bliss Workshop On The Go and Perfect Day papers (both discontinued) for this last card. A little ribbon, paper flowers and more Bitty Opaques dress it up.

The workshop will be at my house in Arnold, MO (send mean email for the address) on August 5 from 2:30 – 5:00 pm. For just $12, you will make 12 cards (4 each of the 3 designs).   If you are coming, please RSVP so I can  prepare the materials. I hope to see you there!

Life Is Tweet

Is it really June already? I can’t believe another month has flown by.

The June Stamp Of The Month, Life is Tweet, is fun and whimsical. I’m loving the birdies! It is really a card makers delight with birthday, anniversary, thank you and other well wishes. Party hats, balloons and flowers add to the charm.

Supply lists and directions for the projects above are on the Close To My Heart website via this link.

Here’s a picture showing all of the “Tweet” images in this set.

Remember this stamp set is only available during June 2012. Order yours today for $17.95 or just $5 when you spend $50.

Potential Cards

Good morning! Today, I want to share with you a couple cards I made recently with Potential, the March Stamp Of The Month.

This first one could be used for wedding or anniversary.

This card is really easy to make using solid Grey Flannel and Daisy White cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Blush. I dressed it up a little with some flowers from the Bitty Buds Assortment (Z1690). Here’s a close up of those lovely embellishments.

For my second card, I also used the new 4 My Friend stamp set (D1510). This set of 10 stamps covers all your major reasons for sending a card.

As you may have noticed from several of my latest projects, I’m in love with the Garden Wooden Shapes (Z1718). They come in a neutral shade, but you can ink them to match anything. For this card, I ran them across the Blush stamp pad a few times and added a few Sparkles.

Don’t forget the Potential stamp set is only available during the month of March. It is $17.95 or just $5 with an additional purchase of $50. You get all of the images shown below.
