Babycakes Mini Album Kit

I have a brand new kit in my Show Me Scrapping store! I am so excited about this project for three reasons: 1) It is super easy (thanks to the Cricut), 2) It is super cute and 3) It is super affordable!

This cute mini-album makes a perfect gift for a new Mom or Grandma. They will enjoy adding pictures to document their precious bundle of joy.

In this kit you will get all this for just $15:

  • Set of 6 chipboard pages
  • 12 pieces of pre-cut cardstock to cover the pages
  • Lots of coordinating die-cuts
  • Badge button for the cover
  • Rings
  • Fabric strips to tie on the rings

The only thing you need to complete it is adhesives and a little time. The pages are approximately 4″ square and the finished album is just under an inch thick.

(The kit comes with one each of “Baby Boy” and “Baby Girl” die-cuts)

Order a kit >>>

Interested in making a similar kit but with a different theme? You can!

The set of six chipboard pages are available on my website (Z1791) or as part of the Artiste Cricut Collection. Cut your selected paper to fit the pages exactly using the “Family” key on the Artiste cartridge (p. 60 of the handbook). Cut two of each page to cover both sides.

From there it is up to you. Add die cuts, stamping, stickers or what ever your heart desires to dress up your mini-album.

What a fun way to document the moments of your life!

Keep Creating,

Rebecca

Simple Babycakes Card

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Christmas and New Years break. Although I took a break from blogging, I’ve actually done a lot of crafting and have a stock pile of projects to share with you.

Tonight, I thought I’d just share a quick and simple baby congratulations card using the Babycakes paper and the Wild Wonder (C1558) stamp set.

This card really is simple — I used just three rectangle of paper and a piece of a zipstrip. The giraffe was super easy since it is a shape on the Artboooking Cricut cartridge. I finished the card off with badge button from the Babycakes assortment and a grey twist tie. The ticket was cut on the Cricut using Art Philosophy.

Hope you enjoyed this simple card. I’ll be back soon with more quick and easy projects — I promise.

In the meantime, keep creating!

Baby Memory Box

Hello! I’m really excited that in just a few days, I will have a new nephew! This afternoon is my sister’s baby shower and here’s some pictures of the gift I made her with the Victory papers. (I’m banking on the fact that she will be way to busy to check out my blog before the shower.)

This decorated recipe/photo box will help these busy new parents remember the precious times over the next few years. Text inside lid:

Baby books are great ideas

but sometimes you’re too busy.

Living with little ones

can put you in a tizzy.

Milestones pass too fast at times

to find the proper page,

So jot note of each event

with date or baby’s age.

Like, “took 3 steps on May the 1st”

or “Teething – 5 December”

Then drop it in this Memory Keeper

to help you remember.

I’ve had this poem in my idea folder for a couple years and there was not a source on the print out. If you know where it came from, I’d love to give credit where credit is due.

Inside the box are a bunch of notes cards for them to use to write down milestones or everyday moments.

The sentiments and images on the It’s Your Day stamp set were perfect for this. The two special cards below will go on top. “Hello Life” to record the birth event and one for me to write a special welcoming note for the shower.

Through September 30, you can get a copy of this stamp set for yourself for just $5 with a qualifying purchase of $35. Click here to start shopping.

This is one of my favorite projects ever. I hope it has inspired you to find creative ways to remember the special times in your life.

Sensational Seasons

Today, I’d like to share with you all the fun I’ve had with the March Stamp of the Month, Sensational Seasons. My 10-year old daughter grabbed this as soon as I got it and has been creating all kinds of things ever since. It is her favorite of all the stamp sets I have. I finally had a chance to try it out for myself and I have to say, it is a good one.

For the first three pieces below, I used my daughter’s technique of stamping the image in black and filling in with colored pencils. I used one page from a Mix & Mingle album for the base for the wall hanging below.

Bamboo, Sweet Leaf and Blush Cardstock

Colored Pencils

Here’s a couple 3″x3″ cards that would be perfect for Easter baskets.

Chocolate brads and ribbon

For this next card, I used markers to color the stamped images to get a brighter look. The stamped sentiment says “You hold a special place forever in my heart”.

Mayberry B&T Duos Paper

Colonial White and Smoothie Cardstock

Chocolate ribbon

For the final card below, I stamped the image directly on the B&T Duos paper for a completely different look. I love the simplicity of this application. It looks to me like the little bunny is embroidered on the onesie.

The last two cards use paper from Mayberry, which is the featured paper set for April’s Paper-crafting Night.

Thanks to fellow consultant Debra Squires who shared the 3D card pattern and to Lauren Meader who shared directions to make the cute baby onesie card.

Just a reminder that the Sensational Seasons stamp set is only available through March 31, 2011. It is available this month at a discounted price or free with additional purchases. Click on this link to get the details.

Thanks for looking at my artwork. I’d love to hear your comments.

Magnificant Magnifique!

The purpose of this post is to show the versatility of a single My Reflections paper packet from Close To My Heart. I’ve chosen the Magnifique Level 2 Paper Packet. The cards in this picture demonstrate the variety of papers included in the pack and how the papers can take on completely different looks by matching with different card stock and embellishments. We will be making the last two cards at an upcoming workshop, Cards by the Dozen (details to come).

This nontraditional baby page was also made with Magnifique papers. Don’t I have the cutest nephews and niece?

I created the last 2-page layout for the Friday, January 14 crop night at my house. You are invited to come and make one for yourself. The cost is $6 which includes all materials, plus use of my stamps and other tools required to complete the layout. You will also learn to use generational stamping to make the layered embellishments on the layout.

The class is FREE if you preorder the Magnifique Workshop On the Go kit shown below. The kit includes a Level 2 paper pack (22 sheets), stamp set, mini-medley collection and guide. All of this plus the workshop is a great value at $29.95, plus tax and shipping. Preorder deadline is January 5.

Workshop starts at 6:30 pm. You can come for the workshop and stay to crop until 11:30 for 5 hours of uninterrupted scrapbooking! Bring your own cutting tools and adhesives of choice.

Please email me to RSVP for this fun evening by Friday, January 7.
