Home Crafty Home — free download instructions for this new DIY home decor kit!

Our new Home DIY Decor workshop gives you the materials and instructions to make this cheery piece for your mantel, shelf or cabinet top! The kit uses our chipboard monogram letters, So Much Happy paper and puffy stickers and shapes cut using the Artistry Cricut collection.

If you like knowing exactly how to recreate a project step-by-step, you will love how thorough our directions are. However, if you have a more creative bend and enjoy making projects truly your own, use the directions for inspiration and let your imagination go wild. 

A few things you may want to consider: 

  • Think of a word that would be more meaningful to you or your family. Buy the letters you need but use this guide for inspiration for decorating and connecting them.
  • Choose a different paper pack to better fit your decor. Order the letters, paper pack and coordinating embellishments separately and use this printable guide for inspiration.
  • Add photos on the blank letter to make a more personal decor piece.

National Papercrafting Month: Love Letters plus bonus project

January is National Papercrafting Month and we are celebrating by offering an exclusive kit to make beautiful floral monograms.

There are 27 “Love Letter” kitsto choose from — pick your favorite letter or this trendy “&” sign.

Each kit includes a sturdy chipboard letter, a diecut white and rose gold cover, three banners (choose the one right for your project), punch out 3D flowers and stems plus rose gold script alphabet stickers. 

I ordered a “B” kit and found it very quick to assemble. For mine, I added Gold Glitter Gems to the centers of  some of the flowers for a little extra sparkle. 

The alphabet stickers are in a script font that fit together almost seamlessly so that it looks like continuous handwriting.

The kit includes plenty of flowers, in fact I had so many left over that I was able to make this layout with the extras!

Because the flowers have so much dimension, this layout would be a great one to hand on the wall in a shadow box.

Festive Friday Blog Hop: November Edition

Welcome once again to the Festive Friday blog hop! If you came here from Diane’s blog, The Happy Scrapbooker, then you are on the right track. Your hopping path is circular and you will visit each of us by following the links.

This month, I’ve decorated a My Creations Star with the Frosted Paper. The first thing I did was ink the outer edges, ridges and valleys of the star with Champagne ink.

Cutting the paper to cover the star was made much easier using a template provided by Close To My Heart. You can access it HERE. Simply print this page on a 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper. You can either cut five pieces of decorative paper using the first pattern and fold each one in half to cover each point of the star. Or you can ten pieces using the second pattern. 

I choose to use the second so I could use all the beautiful prints in the Frosted paper pack. As I cut them out, I laid them out to find the best order. 

The Peace banner is from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge (page 80). To make the centerpiece, I stamped Classy Doily (B1424) twice on Champagne and Frosted Blue cardstock. I trimmed the Champagne image down to the 10-pointed star and the Blue one to the 5-pointed star in the middle. 

I used several layers of foam tape to get the banner and star to be flat. The final touches are a couple Small Sparkle Flourishes and a small flower from the Base & Bling Floral Accents assortment.

Greater Love Cross

For Christmas, my friend Katie gave me this beautiful cross for me to decorate for my home.

I was delighted with the gift, but wasn’t sure exactly what I’d do with it. However, as soon as I saw the For Always paper in the new Idea book, I knew it was perfect!

Pulling it together was quick and easy thanks to the coordinating My Stickease. The true love theme of these embellishments was perfect for my focal verse, John 15:13.
