Out of this World Cards! You are going to love the Aurora workshop.

Take your creativity to another galaxy with the Aurora cardmaking workshop kit.

This workshop includes materials and instructions to make 16 standard size cards, 4 of each of the designs shown above. Not only are they cards beautiful, but they include such positive sentiments. In this current pandemic, I bet you know someone who could use a “smile across the miles”!

In the kit you get an exclusive stamp + Thin Cuts set, paper from the Aurora collection, cardstock, Silver Glitter Gems, card bases, envelopes plus full color printed instructions.

Before we move on, click on the image above and zoom in on the thin cuts. With the kit you get both sides of the world. Isn’t that the coolest?

A little extra sparkle was added to these cards using a Mint Shimmer Brush.  This was used to paint some pieces like the world and also to add splatters.

To make the cards as shown, you’ll also need Glacier, Charcoal & Peacock ink pads plus adhesives, including Thin 3-D Foam Dots or Tape. Now let’s take a closer look at the cards.

This kit includes the materials to make 16 cards pages. In the kit you get a full color printed workshop guide with step-by-step directions. If you’d like more instruction on this kit, Close To My Heart is hosting a virtual workshop on June 16. Details coming soon on the Close To My Heart Facebook page.

Keep creating!

Capture all your Summer Memories with this Album

I hope you are having a wonderful summer! What fills your days? Where have you gone? Who have you spent it with? If you have created some fun memories, now is that time to capture them with this cheerful summer album kit!

I’ve created this bright and cheerful mini-album to help you celebrate the good times you’ve had this summer. It is exclusively available through my website and you can choose to make it on your own or attend one of my classes in August.

Each kit includes:

  • Black mini-album with 10 spiral bound 4″ x 6″ memory protector pages
  • Several 4″ x 6 and 3″ x 4″ base pages (solids and patterns)
  • Coordinating sticker sheets
  • Vellum, chipboard and cardstock die cut pieces

When you order the kit, you will also get a guide with photos of sample pages. Although the photos will give you ideas and inspiration, you are free to mix it up and make pages that fit your style and photos!  Here are a few of of the sample pages:

There is no cutting required other than cropping your photos. You will just need your favorite adhesives to assemble. This is a great project for all ages!

Options: Attend a Workshop or Order the Kit!

I’ll be teaching this album as a classon August 20 & 22 at First Baptist Church in Arnold. Sign up to make albums with your kids or grandkids and you’ll be making even more memories as you craft together! (Children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.)

However, because everything is ready to assemble, this is a project that requires little instruction. If those dates don’t work or you are not local, you can order by selecting the “distance” option when you “sign up”. Price includes shipping within the US!

Online Cricut Workshop featuring Hello USA coming in August

Earlier this summer, I hosted a Cricut workshop at my home to make three projects using the Hello USA Cricut collection. It was so much fun that I’ve decided to offer it virtually. Before I get into the details of how the class will work, let me tell you about the projects.

Register now>>

THE PROJECTS

The workshop includes materials, directions and online instruction to make three projects using the digital Hello USA Cricut collection. Once you sign up, your materials will be mailed to you (or available for pick up if you choose the “local” option) and you will be added to the online classroom.

The first two projects are pictured below and include a home decor page titled “Home of the Brave” and a “Happy 4th of July” card. The final project is a little more open ended. It is a two page layout featuring the state of your choice. I will talk more about that in a post in a couple days.

No automatic alt text available.

Each of these projects uses features available in Design Space such as grouping, slicing, welding and more. Because this class is online, it is appropriate for both beginners and experienced Design Space users. You can pause the videos, ask questions and take as much time as you need. If you are comfortable you can dive right! Help is available as much or little as you need it.

If you have not yet pulled your new Cricut out of the box, this class is for you! In addition, through the interactive online class, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions that have come up as they work in Design Space even if on other projects. I’ll work with you one-on-one though messenger if you need additional help getting started.

If you have been using your Cricut for months or even years, this class is for you! If you are like me, I tend to do the things I know rather than try new techniques or learn what else if available. In designing the projects for these classes, I try to stretch myself to try new things so that you learn something new with each project.

CLASS SCHEDULE

Once you sign up for this workshop, materials for the projects will be mailed and you will be invited to join the online classroom.

Each Tuesday morning in August, I will post instructions for a new project using the Hello USA collection in the private online classroom. In addition, I’ll go live with an instructional video with pointers for that week’s project. Busy on Tuesday mornings? No problem! The videos will be recorded and the directions available for you to watch on demand at your convenience.

Throughout the month, additional tips and ideas will be posted in the classroom. You have access to all of this material as part of the workshop.  On the final Tuesday, I’ll wrap up the class with ideas for future projects using the fun Hello USA collection.

SUPPLY LIST

In addition to the workshop kit included when you register for this class, you will need the digital Hello USA collection, a Cricut machine that can be accessed through Design Space (Explore and Maker families), Cricut mat, laptop, basic papercrafting tools and favorite adhesives to complete the projects.

The Hello USA collection of images features 60 layered images including shapes, overlays and names for all 50 states in the US as well as a local flower, slogan and state-specific icon. The collection also includes 10 extra images about the US, including regions and the US flag. You can order this collection on my Close To My Heart website.

All You Can Make Cards is back with 4 dates to make Christmas Cards!

My popular All You Can Make Cards workshop is back! There are four dates in November and December that you can make your Christmas cards. The buffet has many cards to choose from.

Here’s a couple that I just added that include lots of fun Cricut-cut shapes.

Here’s another new one that is a Gift Card holder!

Gift cards are convenient, but not necessarily exciting. This pretty card dresses up what would otherwise be a somewhat boring gift.

At the workshop, you’ll have two hours to make as many cards as you are able. Feel free to make multiples of your favorites or work with a friend.

The papers for each card are already cut for you and ready for assembly. You simply choose the card you’d like to make from the buffet, then head over to the tool table for ink pads and any other tools listed on the directions. When you finish your first card, return the box to the table for the next person and choose a new one. Repeat.

The price includes cards, bases, papers, stamps, ink and embellishments are included. You only need to bring your adhesives. Feel free to bring favorite basic tools (for example, scissors and bone folder), but I’ll have extras if you need them and any other specialized tools used for the cards.

It’s a fun and productive night! I’ll have two workshops in November on the 14 & 15 and two more in December on the 5 & 6. Click on the link below to register. You can add multiple events to your calendar before you check out.

See you then,
