Out of this World Cards! You are going to love the Aurora workshop.

Take your creativity to another galaxy with the Aurora cardmaking workshop kit.

This workshop includes materials and instructions to make 16 standard size cards, 4 of each of the designs shown above. Not only are they cards beautiful, but they include such positive sentiments. In this current pandemic, I bet you know someone who could use a “smile across the miles”!

In the kit you get an exclusive stamp + Thin Cuts set, paper from the Aurora collection, cardstock, Silver Glitter Gems, card bases, envelopes plus full color printed instructions.

Before we move on, click on the image above and zoom in on the thin cuts. With the kit you get both sides of the world. Isn’t that the coolest?

A little extra sparkle was added to these cards using a Mint Shimmer Brush.  This was used to paint some pieces like the world and also to add splatters.

To make the cards as shown, you’ll also need Glacier, Charcoal & Peacock ink pads plus adhesives, including Thin 3-D Foam Dots or Tape. Now let’s take a closer look at the cards.

This kit includes the materials to make 16 cards pages. In the kit you get a full color printed workshop guide with step-by-step directions. If you’d like more instruction on this kit, Close To My Heart is hosting a virtual workshop on June 16. Details coming soon on the Close To My Heart Facebook page.

What’s old is new! Updated 2014 workshop post, printable guide available

Update 2/13/2020: I updated this post from 2014 because the Remarkable Wreath stamp set used for this card kit is back for a limited time! Even better, it is part of our Stamptacular sale and just $9.50! If you purchase this stamp set from my Close To My Heart website, I’ll send you a pdf cutting and assembly guide for these cards. Although the Timberline paper is retired, other papers and  embellishments can be substituted and give these card designs an updated look! Hurry, this stamp set will retire again on 2/29/2020!

I’m so excited to share this new Show Me Scrapping custom card kit with you. Unfortunately, because of retiring products, this kit is only available through July 31, 2014.

Click here to order your card kit today>>

This kit includes the cards, envelopes, papers and embellishments to make 12 cards, 4 each of the 3 designs shown. Scroll down for detailed pictures plus a few tips I used when creating these cards.

Timberline Card #1
Timberline Card #2
Timberline Card #3

I love how the3D Foam tape adds dimension to the trees on card #1. The trees are from page 66 of the Artbooking Cricuthandbook.

Another “trick” I used to add detail to card 2 random stamping the wreath with Cocoa ink on the outer edge of the card before layering on the pages. I like how the branch design frames the rest of the card.

The window on card #3 is also from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge. I added a header & footer using the same wood paper from the Timberline paper pack but with the grain going horizontal rather than vertical. To make it really dimensional, I attached these “boards” and the wreath with 3D foam tape.

These cards use one of my favorite stamp sets, C1473 Remarkable Wreath, which sadly will retire at the end of July.

You can order this stamp set and other supplies needed to complete your kit on my Close To My Heart website.

Addtional items needed to complete your cards
My Acrylix Remarkable Wreath (C1374)
My Acrylix blocks of various sizes
Goldenrod, Cocoa and Twilight Exclusive Ink Pads
Paper Trimmer & Scissors
Sponge
Adhesives
Artbooking Cricut Cartridge (2020 update – now available through my Cricut link!)

NEW card for Monday’s workshop

I just created a couple new cards for this month’s All You Can Make card workshop that will be on Monday night. I wanted to share one with you and also invite you to join me to make it and others.

This card uses the retired Tommy paper. I just love the bold blue and gold stripes, don’t you? I continue to get requests to add more masculine birthday and this one fits the bill.

If you live in the Arnold/St. Louis area, you are invited to come to the workshop.

This simple card could easily be recreated using any papers. I used two stamp sets to make this card. B1417 Perfect Fit – Birthday and D1527 Perfect Fit are made to go together! The images are on Art Philosophy so although it looks like I did some fancy cutting, it was really fast and easy to create the layers.

Both of these stamp sets are currently available, but they will be retiring later this year. If you like them, now is the time to order them because of the March special which allows you to buy two stamp sets and get a third one free!

There are so many stamp sets currently available, but many like the ones above will be retiring soon. Check them out — I bet you will find three you really want! See all available stamps>>

Happy creating,

Register for the Next All You Can Make Cards Workshop — October 5th

I’ve got a couple questions for you: Do you send cards? How many do you send per month? How much would you estimate that you spend on cards each year?

How would you like to have a fun, creative night where you make cute, original cards at a price much less than you have been spending on ready-made cards like the one below?

I’d like to invite you to my All You Can Make Card Workshops next Monday (Oct 5).

Sign up now>>

This is the ultimate Girls Night Out! Why?

  • It’s fun!  Be prepared for a relaxing evening as you work at your own pace while visiting with the other card-makers.
  • It’s simple! All of the cards are pre-cut and ready to assemble. You just grab the tools required and get started.
  • It’s eductional! The cards use a variety of techniques from stamping to distressing to embossing. Between the written directions plus my personal assistance, you will learn some new tricks of the trade.
  • It’s economical! Most participants create 3-5 cards per hour which makes the cost per card much cheaper than a typical {boring!} pre-made card.
  • It’s productive! You will leave with an amazing feeling of satisfaction that your time was well spent.

Here’s just a few more of the cards currently available at the workshop:

Each month I add a few more cards to the mix. Last month, I added the Christmas Card below and I’ll be adding several more this time so you can get a jump start on your holiday preparations.

Interested? Let me know if you have any questions or sign up using the link below. If this is your first time, be sure to select the discounted price!

You Are My Happy Card Set

Hello and Happy National Stamping Month! To celebrate this grand occasion, Close To My Heart released a brand-new, exclusive stamp set called “You Are My Happy”. It is really three stamp sets in one: a font, a great set of cheerful sentiments and some fun images.

There are so many great images and sentiments in the set, I couldn’t choose just one. So I decided to create a set of cards.

To make this set, I turned to Jeanette Lynton’s book Wishes.

This book is fabulous! Similar to Jeanette’s other How To books, Wishes contains full instructions for lots of cards plus lots of techniques to make your projects special. In addition, Wishes has instructions for three card workshops.

I choose the Celebration card workshop beginning on page 21 to make twelve 6″ x 6″ cards.

The workshop calls for 10 sheets of cardstock (6 are used for card bases). I added an extra sheet of Colonial White for stamping. My cards are made with the retired Pemberley paper.

It was easy to follow the cutting and assembly instructions. Then I got to do the fun part — stamping and embellishing!

Here are pictures of each of my finished cards. (I actually made two of each of these for twelve total.)

Additional Supplies:

Rosewood Mini-Medley Collection

Harvest Baker’s Twine

Mocha Opaques

– Outdoor Denim & Desert Sand Ink Pads

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my cards. I’ll close with a quick reminder that the exclusive “You Are My Happy” stamp set is only available during September. You can get yours for just $10 with a qualifying $50 purchase on my website (www.rebeccabrown.ctmh.com).

And always, keep creating!
