What’s old is new! Updated 2014 workshop post, printable guide available

Update 2/13/2020: I updated this post from 2014 because the Remarkable Wreath stamp set used for this card kit is back for a limited time! Even better, it is part of our Stamptacular sale and just $9.50! If you purchase this stamp set from my Close To My Heart website, I’ll send you a pdf cutting and assembly guide for these cards. Although the Timberline paper is retired, other papers and  embellishments can be substituted and give these card designs an updated look! Hurry, this stamp set will retire again on 2/29/2020!

I’m so excited to share this new Show Me Scrapping custom card kit with you. Unfortunately, because of retiring products, this kit is only available through July 31, 2014.

This kit includes the cards, envelopes, papers and embellishments to make 12 cards, 4 each of the 3 designs shown. Scroll down for detailed pictures plus a few tips I used when creating these cards.

Timberline Card #1
Timberline Card #2
Timberline Card #3

I love how the3D Foam tape adds dimension to the trees on card #1. The trees are from page 66 of the Artbooking Cricuthandbook.

Another “trick” I used to add detail to card 2 random stamping the wreath with Cocoa ink on the outer edge of the card before layering on the pages. I like how the branch design frames the rest of the card.

The window on card #3 is also from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge. I added a header & footer using the same wood paper from the Timberline paper pack but with the grain going horizontal rather than vertical. To make it really dimensional, I attached these “boards” and the wreath with 3D foam tape.

These cards use one of my favorite stamp sets, C1473 Remarkable Wreath, which sadly will retire at the end of July.

You can order this stamp set and other supplies needed to complete your kit on my Close To My Heart website.

“Daring Adventure” Timberline Kraft 3-Ring Binder Album

Have you made any of the mini-albums on the Artbooking Cricut cartridge yet? If not, you may not know how versatile they are.

Did you know:

  • The cartridge includes 10 albums, each with a different theme and size?
  • You can mix and match pages from any that have the same vertical dimension?
  • Any of the pages that are 8″ tall will fit in our Kraft 3-ring binder?

For example, I made with the Timberline papers & Stickease plus a Kraft binder. Cutting the pages out on the Cricut and using the ready made stickers made this project crazy quick.

Mixing and matching the 8″ pages on the Artbooking cartridge adds interest asyou can see from the side view shown below.

I used images from pages 38, 39, 40, 41, 44, 45, 48, 49, 50 & 51 of the Artbooking handbook. These are the mini-albums that have 8″ as the first dimension. For all of the pages, I left the size dial set to 8″ (NO Real Dial Size) so that all of them cut to fit in the album perfectly.

Note that some of the page are half size which adds even more interest as you layer them together.

For some of the pages, I choose to cut titles from the many choices on the Artbooking cartridge. Be sure to leave room to add pictures and journaling.

This is in the corner of one of my favorite pages. I roughed up the edges of the cardstock with an edge distresser and mounted the tent on 3D foam tape for dimension. A little baby powder on the back of the sticker keeps it from sticking to the base page along the edges and center where there is not tape.

Remember, you can make an album like this with ANY papers. I choose Timberline and did a camping theme, but your choices are virtually unlimited.

So pick a paper pack and gather up coordinating stickers and embellishments. Once you cut your pages, cut loose and get creative decorating your pages.

Don’t forget that the Artbooking cartridge also includes titles and other images to fit almost any theme.

Have fun and keep creating!

Rebecca

Timberline – June Collection of the Month

Each month, I feature a different product collection from Close To My Heart by posting information about kits for purchase and other projects on this blog, the Show Me Scrapping Facebook page and on displays at events.

The June Collection of the Month is Timberline and I will be giving away one size M stamp set to someone who shows of their completed Timberline project on Social Media.

To be entered into the drawing, please complete these steps:

1. Place an order of $25 or more in June that includes at least one product from the Timberline collection: Timberline Paper Pack (X7182B), Timberline Complements (X7182C), Timberline Assortment (Z3005) or the Timberline Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go (G1077).  You can order directly from me or place an order on my website. Be sure to join the current “club” gathering before finalizing your order.

2. Create a project that includes something from at least one of the Timberline products listed above.

3. Post a picture of your completed project to your Facebook timeline, Instagram or Twitter accounts with the hashtag #showmetimberline.  (Because Facebook hashtags expire in about a week, please also share your post on Show Me Scrapping’s facebook page to make sure I see it.)

Enter as many unique projects on separate posts as you want. One winner will be chosen at random from the qualifying projects posted as of August 31.

Your project does not need to be original. Completed layouts or cards from workshop kits are completely acceptable for this contest. You may find inspiration on page 48 – 53 of the Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book, my blog, Pinterest or a Google search.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
