I can not “Bear” to have you miss the next Card Workshop

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about my All You Can Make card workshops so I’d like to give you an update since I’ve moved my card “buffet” from a table to a wall. This new set up is working so well!  Going vertical makes it easier for my guests to select what card they would like to make.

Once a card is selected, the sample can be pulled down because they are conveniently mounted on the displays at the top with Velcro. You may notice that there are a couple empty spots — I will be filling these with ChristmasCardsbefore the next workshop! In fact, I will add a half dozen holiday cards by the November workshops and in December, the board will be nearly filled with HOLIDAY CARDS!

Beneath the cards on display, there are two rows of bags. These bags contain the card bases, envelopes, stamp set, papers, embellishments to make the card. They are numbered to match numbers that are on the back of the sample cards. They also contain a list of ink pads and other items from the “tool table” needed. Once you have gathered up the sample card, bag of materials and tools, you can make as many of the selected card as you’d like. At the workshop, you will have 2 full hours to make as many cards as you’d like!

Tonight I added kits for this adorable masculine card to the buffet. It is likely the last non-holiday card I add this year. It is made with the recently retired Jack paper and Cardmaking stamp + thin cut set. (Although offiicially retired, this set is still available to purchase!).

This stamp set is one of my favorites! As you can see, there are several other sentiments you could choose in place of the one I used. If you want to get really ahead, you could even make your Father’s Day cards for next year!

If you live in the St. Louis/Arnold area, I’d love to have you join us at my next All You Can Make Card Workshop! I am hosting two each month through December.  If you can’t make it to my card workshops, the card buffet wall is always open! You can make these cards a la carte for just $2.50 each during my crops and other events.

For more details and sign up for card workshops, crops or other events, head over to my Yapsody website. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me. Hope to see you here!

Recipes for Featured August Stamp of the Month Projects

Each month, my Close To My Heart features beautiful projects made by home office artists using the current stamp of the month. This month’s projects are perfect to help make the first day of school a big success!

As you know, most teachers operate on a very low budget and supplement supplies out of their own project. Wouldn’t your child’s teacher love that bundle of pictures with a handmade tag to show your appreciation. Another idea is to create one of these featured cards for a personal note to slip in your child’s lunch box or back pack to let them know you are thinking of them through the day. And of course the layout is a must to show off those adorable first day of school pictures.

Below I’d added the list of projects needed to create these projects.

Remember the Stamp of the Month, School Year, is only available in August 2017. In addition, you can get it for just $5 with a $50 purchase. So look over these supply lists, make your list and then be sure to add the stamp of the month.

Keep in mind that the Jack paper pack and some of the other products in these project retire at the end of this month. Retiring items are now while supplies last and items are starting to run out, so don’t wait to place your order. Also, when you order $26.95 of items from the Jack product line in August, I’ll send you a bonus stamp set!

Be sure to review all of my August specials which I posted earlier this month before you submit your order. Please let me know if you have any questions about these projects or the product used.

Keep creating,

Jack: Perfect for your “Little Man” and your “Big Man” as well!

Much of the Close To My Heart marketing for theJack paper collection centers around the theme of “Little Man”. Although these words appear on the stickers and pocket cards, the outdoor prints of this paper is really not childish and is totally appropriate for your “Big Man” as well.

The layout above from the Close To My Heart Art Studio really shows off the beautiful prints in these papers. You’ll find bold plaids, wood grains, tree growth rings and a stitched design. There is also this fun bearded man print! Isn’t that awesome!

Since it is my Collection of the Month for August, when you order the Jack Scrapbooking Workshop Your Way (or a total of $26.95 from pages 34-43 in the Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book) from me, I’ll add theToday Stamp Set(M1172) to your order for free! (Email your order to me to take advantage of this offer.)

This workshop includes the following coordinating items:

– 4 sheets of solid cardstock (1 Juniper, 2 Whisper and 1 White Daisy)

On my Workshop Resource page, you can print directions to these products to make the these three 2-page layouts.

Your workshop also includes two sheets of Picture My Life pocket scrapbooking cards. The same designs are on the front and back, but one side is portrait and the other landscape. You can use these directly on your pages or put them in pocket memory protectors.

The workshop guide also includes details on how to make 9 cards (3 of each design) using your left over paper!

Seasonal Expression 2 Launch & Projects

In March, Close To My Heart held events around the country exclusively for consultants. I was so excited when the announcement came that there would be one at Union Station in St. Louis! Based on my past experience at Close To My Heart events, I expected to be inspired, learn, see friends and enjoy getting creative. I was not disappointed.

Inspiration

Members of the Home Office team traveled to the various locations to present. Our host from Home Office was Tiffany Young who started the day with an inspirational message. We were challenged to find new ways to grow our businesses in today’s market.

Community

One of the best things about going to a Close To My Heart event is the community. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones.

Attendees signing “Close To My Heart”

This event was extra special for me because I was joined by my teammembers Ann, Faye, Barbara, Lori and Joan! Yay Treasure Keepers!

Awards

I was truly suprised and honored to receive two awards for highest sales among those in attendance. To remember these achievements, I received beautiful layouts!

Projects

The main event at this launch was the brand new Seasonal Expressions Idea Book. Although these products were not available to the general public until May 1 (to consultants on April 1), we were given the opportunity to make some fun projects with them. I am FINALLY able to share them with you!

Team Building

After the meetings, my team went across the street to Sybergs to relax and visit over a yummy lunch.

Then we headed to my house for an afternoon with more creating. One of the projects we made was this layout using the Live Beautifully paper and stamp setwhich is exclusively available in May 2017 to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month.

All in all, it was full, but great day! The best part of it all is spending time with others who are passionate about memory keeping and being creative. If you would like to be part of it, you are invited to attend our next team meeting in July — as either a team member or just to check us out. This meeting will be immediately after our annual convention so there will be A LOT to share!
