Treasured Friend Card

I wanted to play around some more with my alcohol markers and looked through my stamp sets for a some good images for coloring. These cheery flowers come from discontinued stamp set called Treasured Friend.

IMG_6358

For the flowers, I blended both shades of Goldrush with the lighter Autumn Terracotta. The centers are the darker Autumn Terracotta marker. The leaves are Olive.

Once I finished coloring, I just cut out the flowers and leaves and layered them on a strip of Dreamin’ paper and burlap ribbon to complete the card.

Keep creating,

Buzzing & Fluttering!

Announcing the final two cards in the Buzz & Bumble Kit!

Each of these cards uses a Quick Card size A stamp set (just $6.95 each). So quick and easy!

I cut the hexagon accent by following the lines on the honeycomb paper as you can see in this close up picture. I used the honeycomb hexagon as a pattern to cut a second one from the cocoa patterned paper.

Stay tuned…I will be posting ordering information for these kits shortly.

Keep creating!

Floral Friendship

I am in love with the For Always paper! It is so beautiful and you can literally add any color to it for extra pop! For the card below, I choose Hollyhock roses and I think it turned out beautiful.

You may recognize the stamp set as Floral Happiness, the March stamp of the month. This stamp set is made up lower and upper layers. Because  the stamps and blocks are clear, you can create beautiful roses by stamping the details over the solid backgound.

After trimming the roses and leaves, I layered them up on the card. I popped the center larger rose with foam tape to add dimension.

To make the roses on my card, I first stamped the Hollyhock backgrounds, then I stamped the details in black aligning the edges of the rose. I did not want to introduce another color to the card for the leaves, so I did both the background and detail in black. To lighten the background of the leaves, I used “second generational stamping”. This is achieved by stamping the image on scrap paper to remove some ink before stamping on the project.

I completed the sentiment from the front of the card on the inside. This rose uses first and second generational stamping.

Don’t forget that this lovely stamp set is only available this month! You can order your copy today on my Close To My Heart website. If you place an order of $50 or more, it is just $5!

It’s Your Day Cards

Just a quick post to show you a couple cards I made with the It’s Your Day stamp set.

IMG_5540

To create the movement effect on the bicycle, I simply stamped three times without re-inking the stamp.

IMG_5539

I gave this second card to my sister with the Baby Memory Box I showed you on Sunday. Not your typical baby shower card, but it matches the gift so well, I thought it was appropriate.

.

Both cards use the Victory paper pack. Don’t forget the It’s Your Day stamp set is only available in September for National Stamping Month. You can purchase this double set for just $5 with a $35 purchase! Click here to start shopping.
