Your Special Day Card with a touch of “Adult Coloring”

Do you love doing “adult coloring” but want to actually finish a project? Here’s a quick card I made with just enough coloring to be fun, but fast enough to feel ok about giving it away 🙂

To prevent the ink from smearing, I stamped with Black pigment ink and used the craft gun to heat set it before coloring.

The happy giraffe on this stamp set, Safari Ballet (A1180), was so much fun to color.  I used Turquoise Blue, Golden Yellow & Barely Beige.

Everything you need to make this card, including the cute Georgie papers is available on my website, rebeccabrown.ctmh.com.

New Product: ShinHan Touch Twin Alcohol Markers!

Starting in August, Close To My Heart will be carrying selected colors of the Shinhan Touch Twin Alcohol Markers. I got to test drive these markers at convention and found them to be very comfortable to use, bright color and even ink flow. They make a great addition to the Close To My Heart product collection.

Check out this beautiful artwork created by the Close To My Heart corporate artists using the new alcohol markers.

I love how these simple card patterns come alive with the vivid colors of the markers. The sentiment on the first card is from the new Lovely Birthday stamp set (B1462) and the flowers are from Pretty Petals (C1599). The stamping on the second card is from the Rainy Day (C1597).

The ShinHan Touch Twin Markers:

  • Are ergonomic
  • Won’t roll away!
  • Are dual-tipped: one fine tip and one broad tip
  • Fine control of ink flow, no smudging or bleeding
  • Are easy to blend
  • Odorless

Close To My Heaet offers the markers in 24 colors, giving you a wide range of flesh tones, neutrals, and an entire rainbow of vibrant hues. The ccolors were selected to represent a broad spectrum of the color wheel and offer consistency in intensity and hue for each shade. We also carry the Colorless Blender Marker which has the same ink formula as the colored markers and can be used to carry blended shades, remove unwanted color or clean up edges where coloring may have strayed outside the lines.

Treasured Friend Card

I wanted to play around some more with my alcohol markers and looked through my stamp sets for a some good images for coloring. These cheery flowers come from discontinued stamp set called Treasured Friend.

For the flowers, I blended both shades of Goldrush with the lighter Autumn Terracotta. The centers are the darker Autumn Terracotta marker. The leaves are Olive.

Once I finished coloring, I just cut out the flowers and leaves and layered them on a strip of Dreamin’ paper and burlap ribbon to complete the card.

Keep creating,

Rebecca
