Let’s talk a little about using and caring for your Close To My Heart My Acrylic stamp sets. These tips will help ensure that you get a clean, crisp stamped image every time!

My Favorite Tips

Tip #1 – Choose a blockas close to the size of the stamp as possible.

Tip #2 – Make sure no air bubbles between the stamp and block.

Tip #3 – Season new stamps by inking and stamping on scrap paper several times.

Tip #4 – Use the foam insert that comes with your stamps under your paper for even stamping.

Tip #5 – Don’t worry if your stamps become discolored with use.

I’ve discovered Adobe Spark! Watch out my new recruiting video I made with Spark!

This afternoon, I followed a link to a fun tool called Adobe Sparkand I think it’s a game changer. The tag line for this app is “Transform your ideas into stunning visuals” and I’ve been doing just that.

Spark allows you to create images, video or pages using templates or from scratch. After a little trial and error, I was able to pick up the intuitive interface and create a few images for my social media platforms.

Then I started playing with the video creator. This fun video builder doesn’t require you to upload any video footage (although you can). You can drop text and images  to create slide show type of videos.

Here’s my new recruiting video I created today in Spark with just a few images — some that I uploaded and some from the handy embedded search.

Maybe I’m a nerd, but playing around with new applications is a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Do you agree? What is your favorite new app?

Four Flower Market Videos just released and more to come!

Close To My Heart just posted four videos on Youtube with each one featuring a different key on the new Flower Market Cricut cartridge. In my last post, I discussed how each key on the overlay (or page in the handbook) had a different flower and related images.

Yesterday, Close To My Heart announced that they will be posting a video for each of these keys! In each video, you will learn how to create the primary flower image and see projects using the coordinating images. In this first video, Monica walks you through how to make the layered bluebells on page (or key) 10 of the handbook. She also shows a lovely baby scrapbooking page using the bluebells and related images.

Three other videos in this series are ready for you to watch:

This cartridge is fully loaded with 14 images on each of 50 keys which is a total of 700 images! Over the next few weeks, additional videos are coming featuring each of the remaining keys.

Art Philosophy Cricut Star Cut-out Window Card

Tired of the same boring flat cards? You can easily turn any Cricut shape into a Window Card using the Slice feature in Design Space.

The card I made uses a blank card base and star from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. This cartridge is amazing with 700 images including two complete fonts, tons of basic images, cards and fun stuff like 3D roses and borders.

If you don’t have it, order yours today because it is retiring at the end of the month!

As Independence Day approaches this year, it seems like there are a lot of reasons to have fear and doubt. But I choose to have HOPE! We live in an amazing country filled with incredible people. Will you join me? As this card says, I wish for you to “Have a day filled with….Hope!”

To make this card, I “sliced” together a scalloped card base and the star image to create a window. The stamping is from one of the stamp sets from the Art Philosophy Collection.

You could use this same technique with the heart, leaf or other images on the stamp set. In fact, you can do this with any Cricut image. Watch this video to see how surprisingly simple it is to create these custom window cards.

In addition to Art Philosophy, the Artiste and Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge collections are also retiring on July 31. Each of these collections include the cartridge, handbook, 3 coordinating stamp sets and 24 sheets of cardstock! These are my go-to cartridges!

We will also be saying good-bye to a lot of stamp sets that coordinate with the Cricut cartridges and tons of other paper-crafting goodies that are available only while supplies last.
