Sweet Life Blog Hop – Preview!

This month, I’ve joined a blog hop showcasing artwork made by Close To My Heart consultants using the July Stamp of the Month, Sweet Life. It will not go live until Saturday morning, but I had so much fun using this stamp set that I had an extra 3″x 3″ card and thought I’d go ahead and show it to you today.

Sweet Life – July 2013 Stamp of the Month

This stamp set seems to have been made just for the alcohol markers so I dug them out and started coloring. It was so fun, I really have to do this more often!

Here’s another look at all the images in this stamp set. When stamped they look like detailed pencil sketches. Just lovely!

I hope you enjoyed this quick preview of things to come. So come back on Saturday and check out my other projects. Then hop along to see more. I can’t wait to see what the others made! Prepared to be inspired.

Keep Creating!

Have a Later Sk8r Birthday

Let’s take a quick break from all the discussions about the new stuff. Here’s a couple 3″x3″ birthday cards I made with a few Later Sk8r scraps and the “Perfect Fit – Happy Birthday” stamp set. Just a reminder that this is one of the paper packs that will be retired after June 30.

I love 3″x 3″ cards. They are so quick and is a great way to use up your left over paper and accessories.

Make someone’s day by sneaking one in a lunch box or brief case. You can also use them for gift tags. Lots of fun!

Keep creating!

Buzzing about Mini-cards

Today, I made a couple quick mini (3″x 3″) cards using Buzz & Bumble scraps.

When I say that I made these with scraps, I literally mean I used scraps. The row of hearts on the first card is made up of the “negative” space left over after cutting some hearts for another project. I cut the smaller Sunset heart for another project as well, but didn’t end up using it.  I folded it and attached with a row of Liquid Glass on the fold line.

Don’t you love the wax seal on the second card? It is from the Buzz & Bumble Assortment.

I love 3×3 cards. They are so easy to make. You just needs a little paper and an accessory or two. I <3 simple!

Another reason to love them is that they are a lot of fun to give. I think of them as “just because” cards. There doesn’t have to be a holiday or a big reason to celebrate. I can jot a quick informal note and then find a creative place to put it to be found later.

Who wouldn’t feel loved and encouraged if they found one in their lunch box or brief case? How about on their pillow after a long day? Maybe tucked into a school book? The possibilities are endless.

Is there someone in your life that would love to get mini-card from you? Where would you hid it?

Sunday’s Projects

We will make two projects at Sunday’s Idea Book party.

First, you will make this cute box cut out using the Artiste Cricut cartridge from the new For Always paper. The stamping is from the Family Love set and we’ll use a masking technique to get just the sentiment that we want to show. It is the perfect size for a piece of chocolate.

This second project is a 3×3 card with the new Claire paper. You will distress the papers with sandpaper to give it that worn denim look. The sentiment is from the 4 My Friend stamp set.

The party is from 1:30 – 3:00 pm this Sunday, February 24 at my house in Arnold. To RSVP, just send me a quick email.

> Post with Mystery Hostess information and other details

Can’t wait to see you!
