Retirement time for Seasonal Expressions 1 Products

It’s time to say good-bye to some amazing products in the Seasonal Expressions Idea Book.

Basically most of what is in this catalog, so it is easier to list what IS NOT retiring than what IS retiring. Here are the things that are carrying over and will still be available to order in May

Other than that brief list, everything else in this 64 page catalog will be gone once April ends. In total 61 products from the Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book will no longer be avaialble to order on May 1. In fact, these items are now only available While Supplies Last so they may become unavailable sooner.

This includes the paper, complements and embellishments from all 4 of the SE2 collections: Sugar Rush, Some Kinda Wonderful, Dreamin’ Big and Hello Lovely.

Of course all of the Workshops Your Way kits that go with these collections are also retiring. There were a total of eight scrapbooking and card-making kits in the Idea Book, but several have already sold out!

Types of album

To help you decide which type of album is right for you, here is a little more information about the D-ring and Post-Bound albums.

The D-Ring albums have 1.5” rings which allow you to add to your album as you make create new pages. These are popular with people who do pocket style scrapbooking because all of divided Memory Protectors lie flat when open.

The post-bound style is idea for showcasing classic 12” x 12” scrapbook layouts side by side with the post holes hidden in the binding. The number of Memory Protectors will vary depending on the thickness of your scrapbook pages.

Both albums provide a sturdy book to share your memories for years to come.

A few of my favorite things…are retiring!

Just a reminder that a lot of our favorites are retiring! If  you have sticky notes marking things on your wish list in either of the two Idea Books shown below, you need to order now or miss out!


Although the official retirement date is not until August 31, all of the retiring items are now only available while supplies last. That means that when current inventory runs out, they are gone for good.

My Top 10 Retiring Items

As I looked over this list, I have to admit I felt some sadness. It was hard to narrow it down to just 10 items, but here’s my favorite 10:

Number 10 – Base & Bling Charms

All of the current Base & Bling charms are on the retiring list! Yes, we have new ones coming, but if you like any of the current ones you need to get them now. The B&B antique metal chains and pendants are being replaced with shiny metal. So if you like the aged look, you need to order these as well.

Number 9 – Picture My Life Programs

Yes, we are getting new PML cards on 9/1, but I’m gong to miss the current ones which are ALL RETIRING! The Pear & Partridge Christmas cards pictured above are my favorite!

Number 8 – Outdoor Denim!!

This is one of my go to colors and I’m going to miss it! I’m also going to miss Smokey Plum, Olive and Autumn Terracotta. Sigh….The new Enchantment colors are pretty too, but this is a tough change for me. If you like these colors too, be sure to stock up on paper and get the ink pads!

Number 7 – Cut Above Christmas Card Kit

I love easy especially when the end result doesn’t look easy. This card kit is so pretty with the glitter paper, deer and twine. But since everything is pre-cut, you can finish them in a jiffy!

Number 6 – Washi Tape

Yes, the rumor is true. All of our Washi Tape is retiring and are not being replaced in the new Idea Books. It took me awhile to warm up to this tearable tape, but just when I was falling in love…

Number 5 –Dimensional Elements Album Pages

I love this mini-album kit. All of the pages are images on the Artiste Cricut cartridge, so decorating the pages is simple. At just $4.95, it is a great deal! (By the way, all of the chipboard sheets that coordinate with the cartridges are retiring, so be sure to stock up on your favorites.)



Number 4 – Designed Decor Flip Stand Album

This popular stand is great for a desk calendar or family pictures. You can cut the pages on the Artbooking cartridge (with a little trimming) and pull an album to match your decor in minutes.

Number 3 – “Chicken Wire” Frame (aka Designed Decor Colonial White Frame)

This trendy frame can be used to display photos, Christmas cards, artwork and much more. It makes a great gift! Who do you know that would like one for Christmas?

Number 2 – Stamp Sets!

So many great stamps are retiring including this fun one called Belated Birthday which allows you to explain why you missed a birthday in style.

Number 1 – Seaside Collection

As a beach-lover, this collection makes my heart happy. Hurry! While the embellishment pack is sold out, you can still get it in the Workshop On The Go.

Retired Items List & just a few days left to order 30th Anniversary Celebration Collections

Tomorrow is the first day of the 2014 Close To My Heart convention. I can’t wait to see the new Autumn/Winter items that will be available to order starting August 1. However, this time of year is always a little bittersweet because it means some of our beloved products must retire to make way for the new ones.

Recently, Close To My Heart issued the retired items list has been released and as always it includes a few of my favorites.

The easiest way to see the complete list of things that will be discontinued is to go to my CTMH website (www.rebeccabrown.ctmh.com), click on shop and scroll down to “Retiring Items” in the left margin. Here’s a short-cut LINK>>.  All of the items in this area will be unavailable after July 31. Also, they are now only available while supplies last so there is no guarentee that they will not run out before the end of July.

Once you have reviewed the list of retiring items and determined which ones you can’t live without, you should take a look at the six special product bundles that are only available in June.

These six collections of coordinating products are being offered for just $30 with a qualifying order of $50 to celebrate the 30th birthday of Close To My Heart!

So Long, Farewell…

If you’ve within earshot of me lately, you know that next week I’ll be in Florida at the Close To My Heart convention. I can’t wait: Disney + CTMH = WOW! I’m excited to see all my fellow CTMH consultant friends, make fun projects, hear inspiring speakers and SEE THE NEW STUFF!!!

The sad part is that in order to make room for the new, we have to retire some of the current items. I’ve put together a list of items from the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book that will be retiring at the end of July.
