September is almost over, but it is not too late to get this month’s Stamp of the Month, Grateful for this Life. This stamp set has so many words that are perfect for your fall layouts or cards, in fact they will work throughout the year! The words “Grateful” and “Thankful” are perfectly scaled for scrapbook page titles. There are lots of additional words to choose from that can be added to these to express exactly how you feel.
You may notice that for my card, I pulled the word “Thank” from the larger word on the set “Thankful”. There are a couple ways you can do this and if you follow my blog, you know that I don’t hesitate to cut my stamps and that is exactly what I did here. Remember since these are clingy stamps, I’ll be able to reassemble the word Thankful if I want to use it down the road. However, if you are nervous about cutting your stamps, you can using masking which means to place a post-it note or piece of scrap paper between the “ful” part of the stamp and your project.
To get the word “you” I also cut the “for you” stamp. Once you start cutting stamps it is hard to stop! It really expands the possibilities of a set.
The shaker for this card was really simple to build because of Close To My Heart’s innovative coordinating dies and foam + acetate packs. This shape is from the new Curved Rectangle Frame Thin Cut (Z5032). Another product that really makes this project work is the new Autumn Loose Sequins (Z4298). The colors are beautiful shades of gold and brown and the combination of sequins and leaves is so much fun. In addition to putting some in the shaker, I also glued a few to the frame.
The striped paper in the window is from the Pumpkin Spice paper pack. Thanks to all of these coordinating products from Close To My Heart, this card came together really quickly.
